Is Neurofeedback Safe?

Neurofeedback is non-invasive relaxation process. The technology is designed to provide your brain with the ability to heal itself and to find homeostasis: your natural balance.

Will Neurofeedback Cure Me?

I cannot and do not predict or guarantee results, and I do not claim to diagnose, heal, treat, cure, or address specific symptoms. What I offer is the opportunity to allow you to achieve a more natural state of balance and harmony for your brain, providing you the benefits of relaxation and self-regulation. Why Do You Neurofeedback and Nutrition?

Both your brain and body need vitamins, minerals and fatty acids to function effectively. Without adequate nutrition your brain will not receive these vital nutrients causing impaired brain function. Working with a nutritionist while training she will ensure you are able to get the most out of your training by making sure you are hydrating and consuming the right nutrients for your body. We cannot train a dehydrated brain.

What happens to the data you collect about me? Is it kept private?

The data collected during your assessment, intake and training sessions is kept on a locked computer and nothing is shared to any outside party of Imaginal Mind and Body. Strict confidentiality protocols are adhered to.

How is Neurofeedback Different?

In today’s pro-chemistry society, we are too often prescribed a drug or therapy that only address the symptoms and does nothing for the underlying problem. In some cases, the prescriptions are worse that the ailment. Neurofeedback is different because it teaches your brain to correct itself by self-regulating the imbalances. Neurofeedback collects data, brainwaves, and converts that data into sound and video, as you watch and listen to your brain waves, your brain is able to recalibrate itself much like Pavlov’s Conditioning Theory.

How Do Medications and Alcohol Affect My Results?

Over-the-counter drugs, prescription medications, alcohol, and illicit drugs all have the capability of changing your brain chemistry. If you are using prescription drugs to help with symptoms of anxiety or depression, you may notice symptoms of over medication once your brain starts to balance. I do not make any recommendations about the effective use of your medications and recommend you consult with your physician, therapist, chiropractor, and/or any other providers working with you. I want you to get the best results from your sessions, so it is important that your brain is free from outside influences as much as possible. For optimal results I strongly recommend you do not combine alcohol or illegal drugs within your training and for up to 3 weeks following your training.

Does Smoking Marijuana Effect Training?

Marijuana will affect your training as it changes your brainwave. But often times,clients will report that after only a few sessions they don’t feel the need or want to smoke. They naturally feel relaxed and less need to smoke for the relaxation benefits they normally receive. They are already in that state NATURALLY!

Will Brain Training Help Me Quit Smoking Tobacco?

Most of my clients who smoke cigarettes report they cut down significantly. If quitting smoking is your objective for training, combined with nutritional support we can create a successful plan for you.

How Long Will It Take for Me to Notice the Benefits of Training?

Each brain is entirely unique and so it is impossible to say how long it will take but generally most clients will notice something within the first 3-5 sessions.

How Long do the Benefits of Brain Training Last?

Again, this is unique for each individual and is dependent on lifestyle choices, severity of symptoms and the length of training. Also, changes will continue to take place long after your training ends. I was noticing positive effects for up to a year after my training and still to this day am benefiting from what happened for me. (Read My Story.) If you are in good health, drink moderately or not at all, do not smoke heavy amounts of marijuana and do not do illegal drugs, the changes can be lifelong. Training your brain can be compared to going to the gym for your body. I recommend coming in for maintenance training 4 times a year. With the miracle of muscle memory, because your brain is a muscle, it will instantly remember the training and the positive effects will be felt within one session.

How Will Brain Training Affect my Family?

Often it is the people you are around the most that will notice positive changes in you before you notice them. If you are easily angered for example, your family will notice you are not lashing out at them as often or any longer as training goes on.
